Nicolas Hulot
Nicolas Hulot was born on April 30, 1955 in Lille. He is an Officier of the Légion d'honneur and a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres. He is the founder and president of the Fondation Nicolas Hulot , an environmentalist group first created in 1990, and presents himself as an ecologist.
He is famous for his TV show named Ushuaia, transmitted by TF1. In his TV reports, he shows the damage done to the Earth by mankind and tries to sensitise the viewers to what motivates his support for the ecological change of conscience that he believes in. He recently launched Ushuaïa TV on the cable which belongs to the TF1 Group.
In 2007, five of the 12 candidates to the French Presidential Elections signed his "Pacte Ecologique", affirming that the ecological problems will be the key in all the future decisions concerning every political subject. "
